A very big thank you to ICOM UK

I want to say a very big thank you to ICOM UK, especially Chris. Recently the PA (finals) went in my IC 7800 which meant the radio was as dead as your turkey at Christmas. So I contacted ICOM UK and they arranged for the media to be picked up from my house. Now since this happened only a couple of weeks before Christmas, you could quite understand me having to wait until after the Christmas holiday. Well, that wasn't the case, ICOM had the radio fixed within the week and returned it back to me a couple of days ago. Understandably, I was quite upset when this happened and I did send a letter with the radio telling ICOM how disappointed I was that the radio had packed up after just four years of me buying a brand-new. They obviously were quite sympathetic and listened to what I said because they waved their labour free and only charged me for the parts that were replaced. Obviously this was a massive surprise when I received my invoice.

All I can say is thank you very much ICOM UK, you are incredibly generous

A very Merry Christmas & a happy New Year

Hi Penn, it's always nice to hear of a company doing a good deed. So congrats to Icom for that. Icom is the main brand of radio I like, although I have just bought the Kenwood TS590SG. It's still sitting on my desk, I haven't had the chance to get it hooked up yet, but hoping the next few days I will. I have just seen some videos of the new Icom 7300 and have to say I am tempted already. I think we had a chat in that past but I can't remember. I too am disabled due to an RTA accident but my mobility can be bad, it varies from day to day. Also my wife is disabled and uses her wheel chair mostly when out and also indoors too when her legs are real bad.

I really just wanted to comment on Icom and there good deed in not charging you labour, every penny counts I am sure.
I have seen a few of your Youtube video's in the past and am disgusted to hear of the abuse that you sometimes get from small minded people. Although I don't know you personally, I have seen how you operate and am more than satisfied that you are a first class and courteous operator, some the abuse in my mind is uncalled for. Sadly there are people out there who get envious of what you may or may not have or do, that is how life is sometimes. My main gripe with people like that is they wouldn't do it to your face and they see you in a wheel chair and think you are an easy target.

    Kind regards, Steve mm0sgq.
